"The open spaces encourage our family to be outside and make it very easy for all ages to be active."

Not the suburbs and not the city.  Stapleton is a wonderfully planned community of tree-lined streets, homes, lofts, condos and carriage houses. And bike paths, pools, tennis courts, sledding hills.  And picturesque pocket parks for kids, parents and leash-free dogs.  Forest City Developers have been extremely successful in establishing an identity that attracts young families and young urban types.  In fact, The Denver Post reports that Stapleton was the Denver area's top selling master-planned community in 2008.

Architecture is tasteful and the envy of many other developments. Residents are diverse because of the array of living options priced at all levels. Within walking distance, residents will find Starbucks, Einstein Bagels, sushi, a farmer's market and neighborhood Movie Nights.  And not surprisingly, the neighborhood is developing some of the best public schools around.  In fact, a much needed third elementary school was just announced to open in Fall 2011.

Now just 25% built out, development will continue for the next 20 years with 9,000 additional homes slated for construction. 5280 Magazine reports that "homes surrounding Stapleton's 80-acre Central Park are expected to one day rival those in Wash Park and City Park." Forest City Developers seem to be doing it right. Since '06 all builders are mandated to participate in the Energy Star program which observes strict EPA energy efficiency guidelines. And a telecommunications master plan mandates high quality phone, video and data wiring in all homes and a community intranet system.
